Mohammed Al-Hamzani presents the palace where King Khalid lived for 15 years in Riyadh and the reason it was named "Umm Al-Hamam"!
Journalist Mohammed Al-Hamzani reviewed the history of King Khalid bin Abdulaziz's palace, where he lived for 15 years before being appointed Crown Prince during the reign of the late King Faisal bin Abdulaziz. Al-Hamzani documented a part of the palace's history in a video he posted on his YouTube account, where he talked about the history of the palace. One of the citizens who lived in the palace, named Fahd, mentioned that when King Khalid moved into the palace, his father, King Abdulaziz, hosted a large lunch party for him and his brothers, the kings and princes. King Khalid lived in the palace for about 15 years until 1385 AH. The citizen also confirmed that most of King Khalid's sons and daughters were born in this palace, except for Prince Bandar and Prince Abdullah. He also mentioned that Princess Sita bint Fahd al-Damer, King Khalid's wife, named the palace "Umm Al-Hamam," which was taken from a beautiful oasis in Wadi Al-Ajman called "Umm Al-Hamam," and later the name came to be used for the entire neighborhood.
